With two decades of industry experience–including some of Brisbane’s most recognised venues–the company has developed a reputation as an independent hospitality operator combining impeccable service, innovation, and quality.

The mission is simple: an ongoing commitment to cultivating a personalised, unparalleled experience for each guest. The venue concepts are developed around experiential dining and remarkable locations, combining food, beverage, music, and service.

WHO WE ARE

Jason Coats has amassed an impressive career spanning two decades, numerous head chef postings, and multiple restaurants as part of his hospitality group.

Having led kitchens at Gertie’s, Senso Unico, and Olivetto, Jason took the opportunity to open his first restaurant, Suburban, in Mt Gravatt in 2001. This allowed Jason to put his stamp on Brisbane’s dining scene with a venue and identity that was entirely his own. From here, Jason would go on to open multiple venues throughout Brisbane, including the much-loved Liquorish Bistro + Bar in Bulimba, The Jetty Oxford, The Jetty South Bank, Eleven Rooftop Bar, One Fifty Ascot, and IL MOLO Italian Kitchen & Bar.

Now, Jason operates the Coats Group with his wife and business partner, Katie Coats. While each year has brought new challenges and opportunities for Jason and The Coats Group, one thing that remains unchained is his commitment to treating his guests to impeccable service, spectacular drinking and dining options, and some of Brisbane’s most enviable locations.
